What sets the Helix mower apart from other leading reel mowers? The Helix was designed with versatility in mind. We want to provide our customers with a great user experience. The Helix is light, but durable. It is rugged but sleek. The cutting system is precise and whisper quiet - no grinding or shearing, no metal on metal contact.
Why is it called the Helix? Reel-style
mowers have what can be called "Helical" blades. Kinda like a strand
of DNA which forms a "Double Helix". The Helix has 5 blades, so one
might call it the "Quintuple" Helix. We thought Helix was an
appropriate name that is also fun to say!
Is the cutting height adjustable? Yes. Whereas most reel mowers max out at 2"-2.5", The Helix cutting height has been extended to 3.5". Keep in mind that reel mowers cut best at about 2.5", but the higher cutting height is great for re-taming the lawn after a vacation.
What is the warranty and return policy? The Helix comes with the longest Parts Warranty of any reel mower. The warranty covers all parts for 5 years from the date of purchase. Check with your local retailer for specifics on their return policies. If you have purchased your Helix from EcoMowers.com you can expect to receive our 30 day money-back guarantee.
How tall is the handle bar? The handle bar is very accommodating to different people sizes. Unlike rotary mowers, reel mowers have a free-moving handle bar which can be comfortably used across many heights. Anyone within a height range of 4ft 6in and 6ft 5in should be at ease with the Helix handle.
Actual Height Range (from the ground): 33" to 46"
What assembly is required? This is so quick and easy! No tools are necessary, there are only two (2) bolts which can be hand tightened holding the handle together. The handle can then easily be attached to the mower. That is it!
Is it safe for kids? Yes, but please use caution when teaching/instructing young children on its use. Children should keep all hands, feet, and other body parts away from the cutting system and use the top-mounted carrying handle when transporting the mower. The Helix is very light, and the handle extends low enough for most anyone that is 4ft 6inch to push.
